Today will start the grand adventure. My 5 year old son and I will be making our annual trek to Colorado from Tennessee. Only this time we will be driving. The question is? How many times will I hear, "Are we there yet?" or "This drive is taking a long time." Hopefully with the DVD player, Playstation, and Game Boy, he will keep him self occupied just enough to fill in for the times he's not taking in the sights. Not that there is a whole lot to see in Kansas or eastern Colorado.
It will be a good chance to really so how the Treg will hold up over the long haul for comfort, since after arriving in Denver I will be making multiple trip down to Colorado Springs and to the State Fair. And an even better excuse to get my windows tinted in Denver.
So if you see a Blue Treg, packed like the Clampett's....with a guy driving with earplugs in....it's me.

I've been watching the weather, looks like it should be a great trip. I'm an Arvada native, so I'm really looking forward to no humidity.
I have Chris lined up to tint the windows next week.

So, I guess really, it depends on your perspective. :confused2:

First Leg

Last night was the first leg of the trip. We made it into St. Peters MO. First leg was uneventful, just the way I like. Averaged a pretty decent speed, only one stand still after an accident on I56. I did notice a lot of utility service vehicles heading south on I24 thru KY and IL. I guess they are getting prepositioned to go into FL and help out after the hurricane.

Off on the next leg..... KS

Made it into Denver thursday night. I'm getting much better gas mileage around town here then back home. About 4 MPG better. Got to love thin air. I put 210 miles on the Treg yesterday alone...down to the Springs and back. The weather is great.

Treg has met mud. I got the chance to do a little off roading after all the rains in the area yesterday. What a kick in the pants. Now I just need a little more rain to clean of the Treg. Driving to Pueblo on Saturday, my band is playing at the State Fair 6:30, Comcast Amp Theatre.

I wish I was going to have the time to hit more trails while I'm out here. But after the concert on Saturday, I only have one more day to screw around before I head back to TN. I'm going to spend sunday taking my son to the Rockies game. Then we head home monday.

Playing the state fair was a kick in the pants. It rained for half of our show, which scared most of the crowd off. But when it stopped they returned. Drove alll the way back from Pueblo last night to Denver. Today is the Rockies game with my son and repack the Treg for the trip home tomorrow. Planned stop at the Arch, because my son thinks it looks "cool". Hopefully the trip home will be as good as the trip out. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Side note: My signature block has changed...sold the Mercedes, while I was on vacation. Will be getting back into a Corvette next week

No C6 for me, don't really like the look. I had a 71 Roadster that I sold in January. I love chrome bumpers. But.....want more of a daily driver. So I'll be looking into a C5.

1100 miles later....I'm back home. Rained most of the drive home, but made it. A few wierd hickups on the way back:

- Cruise Contol while activated decided to...deactive by itself.
- Dreaded transmission "clunk" during decel into rest stop (only happened once)
- While listening to MP3 over AUX, Treg decided Radio was better and switched by itself.
- Lost right rear passenger reading light...bulb died.

Other than that, great trip. Not in a hurry to do again. Next summer....FLY!!
