Do you mean "couldn't slow down"? Do you know if you damaged the frame or steering components or just mostly the body? Does the alignment seem normal? Post a photo if you can.

Sorry to hear about it. If you didn't hit the front or rear tire on that side odds are you'll be ok. I'm not sure how the whole subframe is put together, but I imagine if you'd messed that up you wouldn't be wondering about alignment.

The sick side of me would love to see a photo too - plus someone might be able to give you a better idea of affected components.

One of the things that sold me on the Treg is how solid it feels.

My T in currently in the shop after rear ending a Tahoe. My fault technically, but the Tahoe stopped on an entrance ramp to the freeway. Crushed his bumper and turned it down. My T got only a small 1"by 3" gouge in the bumper.

My first thought after hitting him was, "Now, THAT sounded solid!" The T sounded like a solid piece of forged steel hitting something. Pretty impressive!

I got into my first accident with the Touareg about two weeks ago - I was rear-ended (twice!) by a school bus. And, then, the moronic bus driver left the scene of the accident...oh, she also rear-ended two other cars on the highway (we were all in traffic) and never stopped. After following her for 15 miles, I got the state police to meet us and pull her over.

Anyways, my rear bumer and rear hatch/door is being replaced by an auto body shop that's "approved" by my insurance company (MetLife). Hopefully, the car will be like-new when I get it back tomorrow.

I must add myself to the list of damaged Tregs. In my effort to avoid what i think was a groundhog, i ended up in a utility pole. Tore up the front quarter pretty badly, and witnessed the air bags deploying. I didnt really feel the impact, and from inside i didnt really notice anything differnt except for the airbags, the flashers, and the unlocked doors. It was i differnt story when i got out and checked out the damage. Grill and right front quarter gone, it actually looks worse than it is. The utility was damaged and was leaning over the Treg, i guess its no match for 2 1/2 tons doing about 25-30 mph. So i am enjoying life with my wifes "beater", while the insurance guys take thier time to get to my baby.

The kicker of this story is the police officer that was first on the scene and one of the onlookers took this time to interview me abot the TREG!!!
Even in its damaged state the Treg was still impressing others :confused2: :???:
After taking a look at the interior and inspecting it some more the officer said he was headed to the dealership on his next day off

It's good that you were not injured!! Did you take a pic of the car after the accident? Is the first Treg that I know that hits a pole like that...

12 Johnny, i have pictures on my cell i will update shortly...
As for not being injured, all i can say is that i am a witness to the integrity and strength of the Touareg in an accident. When it counted the Treg was there.

Sorry to hear about the Touareg. Good to hear that it stood up pretty well, considering the circumstances. Do you have an estimate on how much it will cost to put it back together?

Wow!!!!! One could buy two Hyundais for the price of this repair... Wow!! (again)... in Europe the hour of labor at a VW dealer costs about $35 and here it's about $85... I guess there will be lots of hours of labor in the itemized bill... Wow!!!!

I've really enjoyed my Campanella White V6 Touareg so far! However, I've had 2 small accidents with it. :anger:

1. I backed into a car and broke the rear left reflector. I need help on how to get a new one, install it myself and from where/how much?

2. Apparently a hit and run where my front rear bumper was scraped. How much would the paint job cost? The scrape is about 1 foot long. Has anyone had any experience in re-painting or replacing the front bumper?

Thanks folks!
