How long I'm cold weather like 25F should it take to heat glow plugs? My TDI seems to take 3-5 seconds no matter the temp. Does this sound right?

Yes, that about what I experience too.
Ok thank you. This is pretty cool as I've never had a diesel like this. Most take 10-30 seconds in cold weather so just wanted to be sure nothing was wrong. Thanks again.

2012 TDI; my glow plugs seem to flash on at start up, maybe 1 second. I have started it in temps down to 0 degrees and see no difference in the glow plug time.

The common rail motors have glow plugs which heat extremely quickly

What parts of the fuel line are heated? The entire fuel line was heated on my Duramax truck.

As far as I know there's nothing specifically heated on TDI fuel lines. There might be a thermostat in the fuel filter housing which sends engine-warmed fuel back into the filter to keep it from waxing over.

The AdBlue lines and tank have electric heaters in them.
