I need to replace the front differential on my 2004 V8.
How can I make sure I’m buying the proper one? I see a code on mine of “0AA409507D-GMN” so I am assuming any V8 with that stamped on the bottom will be compatible?
I know they’re not the same across V6, V8, and V10.
Need this done ASAP, and want to make sure I’m buying the right thing.

There are also 41:10 and 43:10 rations used on some V8:s, so make sure you got the right one.

I'm currently rebuilding mine because i could not pinpoint correct gearing (39:10, TDI) in time to buy used one and did not want to risk it.

I found one on eBay with the correct code and scooped it up with a 6 month warranty.
I verified all the part numbers and everything matches mine exactly so I’m hoping for the best! It should be here in about a week and I’ll verify it’s good, and start the swap. I’ll then rebuild my original and keep it as a spare, or sell it to recoup some of my money spent on the replacement.
