Hi everyone! I have a VW Touareg 2013 LUX and I am looking into upgrading my backup camera because my current one’s quality is terrible. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to go or where to do research at? I’d prefer own that has a dash cam too but I am okay with just the backup camera! Thanks in advance!

You can't, unless you bypass the rns850
Is your camera lens clean? My cam is quite good I think. Maybe not HD like in some new cars, but pretty clear. I use it all the time when connecting trailers, it’s neat all the different angles you can choose from.
It's been brought up before that the backup camera is not HQ. I think the RNS850 is 720x264 for video. 480p has a resolution of 852x480. This will give you a better idea as to why the cameras look sub par picture quality wise.
With that said the only way to get a better resolution, along with a front camera is a secondary aftermarket unit.
