Hi, thats gonna be my 1st post, and apparently I am doing it wrong, i know that i can find lots of answers for my question's on current threads, but please forgive me this time, just getting tired of half-answered questions and can't find something fairly clear. I am going through some issues on my vehicle now, which i am getting confused how far it can go or should i just let it go and look for something else. Thanks for understanding, cheers.
2004 VW Touareg 3.2 V6, 130,000 km.
1). 'Voltage dropping' - not noticeable on voltage gauge. I can see it on any interior lights and exterior ( even hid's - aftermarket one's). On the same time i can hear the engine rpm's drops, as the engine sound go lower and higher, barely, but pretty annoying as it seems to be run unstable ( not noticeable on rpm gauge ). cant see the light dimming though on cluster, radio, or any other blue lights. kind of flickering i would say, not noticeable when engine off. lights, inside, outside, all stable. just when engine running
2). A/C - i believe my engine cooling fan, both ( smaller and bigger ) re not working. first notice is when turning on a/c or simply turning off ECON mode, dont see any difference, still remember small rpm's drop and smaller fan engaging right the way. does not happen any more. I have some cold days now so cant actually say if my engine fan is turning on, but i believe not ( however temperature gauge never exceed 90 degrees. When glasses are fogging, switching A/C doesnt help at all, which i believe mean's its not working, dont hear clutch engaging or so. Once, during -20, after i start the engine, both fans started right the way full speed and continuing for 5 mins, then turn off, both. since that never heard them again.
3). Air bag fault message - usually when I shut down the engine, listen to the radio, doing something around cleaning etc and then starting the engine. ( to low voltage on battery would cause it? - just wondering if draining a bit battery would cause that to pop out ). also, any movement of the passenger seat will cause the same. it appears on cluster , and simply going off in a matter of minutes.
4). Fog lights. - once i am pull out the knob i got - check your lights warning message od MFI screen. finally i decided to get new light bulbs, and try it. thought maybe they just burned out as it happens pretty often in audi's i had before. installed it, same. just after switching fog lights on, warning pop out. lights wont turn on, both. checked the fuse, replaced just in case with another one - ok. maybe there is some other relay or another fuse what will cause this. just another thing is pissing me off. or any idea what it might be?
5) check engine light. that light is 80% time on. even when reset it with obd2 device, which throw the code: P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold ( bank 1 ) P0430 same just ( bank 2 ).
Well, i believe i can find some other small issues, but that it i got for now, again, if i should post it somewhere else, please let me know, i will correct myself. I am not a mechanic, however can lots of things, but any computer thing, or Ross-tech software it's not something I worked on, except turning off TPMS which was another supper annoying thing.
