Know there are a lot of threads about this issue but this one seems a little different. Cooling fans (2008/V8) run on high speed a few minutes after shutdown, drain battery completely. So last week replaced battery, today installed new fan sensors. After shutdown, fans come on at normal speed for about 2-3 minutes then turn off. Nothing happens for 9-10 minutes and then fans come back on super high. They'd run the battery to nothing if allowed. Sometimes opening the door stops them from running; other times inserting the key, turning to ON, then back to off stops them. But they always come back on and will not shut off on their own. Any clues where else to look? Thanks!

Issue stopped for a day then re-appeared on Saturday. Came home scanned with bag-com and as soon as I cleared the same code as in above posting fans went to normal speed. All is fine since - did anyone experiences this? Are sensors slowly dying or they just go or can it be electrical contact?

Changing the sensor today via Dealer - have extended warranty hence. For everyone 16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62) is the one at the rear of the engine as confirmed by ELSA and component location feature. Will report if any problems after sensors has been replaced.
