Hi,
I am looking for some guidance as to how a Webasto unit in a V10 TDI Diesel I am purchasing in Canada that a VW dealer brought across the border.
The webasto unit appears to be automated and kicks in at certain temperatures to warm the engine block, however I would like to know if I can add a timer accessory so that I can control the unit.
The Canadian VW dealer is at a loss as to how the Webasto unit is controlled. Does anyone out there have one of these factory installed units in their V10 TDI? Do you have any advice that you can offer to me as to adding any type of accessory to control the Webasto heater or is there a control in the vehicle itself that the dealer wasn't able to find.
I haven't received the vehicle yet and I would like to get a timer installed if possible. The VW dealer brought the Touareg to a local Canadian Webasto dealer and the dealer says the unit appears to be a German only production unit therefore the North American accessories will not interface with the Webasto.
Thanks for any input you may have.
Mike
