Extended warranty on touareg TDI

I have a 2014 TDI and 2016 TDI. I don't want to run these things out of warranty seeing how expensive the repairs are. Does anyone know a company that will extend to 100k miles and that the dealers will honor?

Are you still under factory warranty on both?
I'm not convinced the newer TDIs are super expensive to maintain as so far, nothing has indicated they are the maintenance nightmare that the 04-05 models were (which most of the extended warranty advice is based on).

For the 8 grand a pair of good warranties would likely cost, I'd just set that amount away from now as your own insurance policy (warranty).

Warrantys are just a gamble that you'll get more out of it than you put into it. And warranty companies are not in the business of losing money.

They early vehicles had transmissions popping, driveshafts, turbos, half the vehicle needing to be disassembled to replace alternators etc. the 2011 and up don't have any of these disaster scenarios.

If you're in the position that buying two 60K vehciles within a year of each other is a possibility, I doubt that a 2K repair would leave you homeless or without a vehicle :)
Insurance is what the extended warranty is all about. Most people have glass coverage for their cars and wouldn't go broke if a windshield breaks, but it makes sense. I have a 100k 10yr warranty for $2800. I hope I never need it,but I have it anyway. In the end it's how lucky do you feel. If you plan to trade these cars often ,don't bother.
I have the extended warranty on my 2011 Toureg,
It just came in very handy with a malfunction in the Add Blue system ($2000)

Read the fine print though. "remote locking system not included" for example.
There are many more exclusions.
They are both still under warranty. My wifes 2014 gets about 12,000 miles a year. mine gets about 20,000 a year and will quickly run out. I was quoted $2000 for a 100000 mile bumper to bumper. I had a MDX, the head light went bad and cost almost $2000 to fix. Not sure how long I will keep the cars with what will happen with all this emissions scandal fall out.
If you're still under factory warranty, check with your dealership or others around the country to see what kind of deal you can find. There were a few dealships over the years that offered great deals to CT members.
You probably want to look for an "exclusionary" warranty that specifies what vehicle equipment is *not* included. If it's not listed as excluded, it's included.

An "inclusionary" warranty lists a bunch of stuff that is included. Anything not mentioned is excluded.

$2k on the VW Fidelity warranty is a good price. You might be able to get a little lower if you want to work for it but might not be worth the effort. One of the best features of this warranty is all VW dealers must honor it. While technically a third-party warranty, it is the only one that is VW branded, thus the reason all dealers must honor it.

If you intend to keep you ride a few years, then it's a good move. Like you, I drive 20k yearly.
I had a 100k VW Fidelity Platinum warranty on my 2010 TDI . When I traded it in @ 70k I got a refund of ~$1000. I put it toward the same coverage on my 2014.
If you sell to a private party it is transferable for $40.

Has any dealer stepped up to what Chris Farnum used to do for forum members with VW warranties???
The guy who replaced Chris will cut a 100k for under 2 g's platinum 100 deductible last time I called. Over 10 k miles they go sky high. Consumer reports rates Tregs recent redesign as average for reliability.
