Hello everyone. 2009 TDI Touareg here. First time owning a 3.0TDI so I'm not that familiar with the system.
Does anyone have a picture or diagram of where the main EGR pipe or egr pipes are? I have a exhaust smell in cabin that I previously posted about but dealer refuses to look into it any further and "Master tech" stating "its normal, you just have to hit recirculate button". That's ridiculous in my mind and it's definitely not normal to smell exhaust fumes in the cabin when vents are on. Fumes still came through even with recirc on.
I'm getting the car back tomorrow (they changed egr cooler, secondary I believe) so let's see if that helped at all but I highly doubt it. I want to inspect the EGR pipe if there's any cracks or if any smoke comes out of it that I'd be able to see as apparently it's a common issue. They stated "we have just replaced the entire exhaust so your egr system is fine there's no leaks or damage". I never knew the exhaust covers my whole egr system and pipes (LOL).
There's still 7k miles or 2 years of dieselgate warranty left on it so I'm stuck running around now trying my luck at different dealers. Though this dealer did mention they won't change anything or look at anything unless check engine light is on. This is after they did $30K of warranty work on my car and they can't bother looking for a exhaust/egr leak that is a hazard to ones health to keep breathing. 10 minutes in the car with heat or ac on and you start to get a headache.
Also does anyone have any recommended dealer in New York/New Jersey area that they've had a great experience with?
