Hello.

Two days ago, I moved my 2011 Touareg across the parking lot as I needed to make space for some workers (I imported it and can't drive it until the paperwork is sorted out).

It was set to "off road". I turned on the engine, set it to "on road" then immediately shifted to "drive" and moved it just a couple of yards. I got this warning - Stop. Error running gear. I parked the car, turned off the engine and when I turned it back on, the warning was gone. Any ideas?

I did a quick Google search but I wasn't able to find info regarding this exact warning. The words "fault" and "workshop" were always included. I don't know if it's actually any difference or if it means the same thing, so excuse my ignorance.

Also, I had it parked and moved it from some rather uneven terrain which made the car tilt forward if that makes any difference.

Thank you.

Low battery most of the time.
Charge it and drive it a few miles and it will clear up. If you have vcds scan it and it will tell you the detail of the error behind that enigmatic message.
