Hi,

I have Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI 180kW/245HP year 2011. After starting engine I see "Error: gearbox. You can drive on." Subsequently "Error: start-stop system." I tried to drive and automatic transmission works normally. Diagnostics shows something about "Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump". Could you help me to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

R.

I don't have VCDS, but I have asked my friend for diagnostics. Diagnostics shows some problem with "Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump". The code is P0C2900.

That doesn't sound like a VCDS code.... you need a more specific scan tool as this type of error is not something you want to take stabs at. Replace the pump if you have funds to throw around.

Exact code should be P0C29 - Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump Driver Circuit Performance. I don't have funds for replacing pump. How could I find out if pump is broken or problem is somewhere else?

Just forget about your Start\Stop and live without it..... or pay someone with more sophisticated equipment to diagnose it further.

I don't need start\stop system but I 'm not sure If my car can live without this pump for long time. I'm worried about my gearbox. Maybe there are some situations when gearbox needs this pump. I would rather to solve it..

Ok, different question. Is it possible to disable Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump on Control Module? I've heard that Start/stop system can be disabled. If I understand it correctly if I don't use start/stop system I don't need Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump..

The pump is already disabled (potentially, since we don't really know for sure... we just know there's a fault... it could be as simple as a loose connection or a rotted\chewed wire, etc) since it's not functioning.... what else do you want to disable?

You are right, now it's not functioning. But there are errors on my dashboard. In my country there is regular technical inspection of the car (I suppose in your country as well). If your car has any errors you will not pass the inspection and cannot use your car..

Once again, CEL (check engine light) will not be caused by a "convenience systems" such as start\stop.
Go back to your friend with the scanner and diagnose your errors properly. CELs are typically caused by things like emissions sensors or other critical engine components.... star\stop is not one of those.
