Im good with the fault codes on the rain sensor and the parking sensor but please tell me what is going on with the NAV unit RNS510 not communicating. The radio is working and comes up on my dash with song names etc etc It is the DVD type where it saves it to memore disc not needed to run nav.

Help required

I have the radio keys to remove and install and i put an ipod cable on it but it dosent work i think i need a module to make it work and im not sure if i remove it will the error still come up..

Was wanting to change the NAV to get the second screen in the tech adjustment not just the display for the antennas signal strength..if you know what i mean

JUST TO CLEAR THINGS UP A LITTLE I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 2-3 YEARS AND BOUGHT IT AS IT IS TODAY (RNS 510 FITTED EITHER AT FACTORY OR PREV OWNER)I HAVE MADE NO MODIFICATIONS APART FROM TRYING TO PUT AN IPOD CABLE ON THE NAV UNIT EVERYTHING WAS ALWAYS WORKING FINE I THOUGHT TILL I DID THIS SCAN FROM ANOTHER MEMBERS COMPUTER WITH ROSS TECH SYSTEM

WE HAVE FOUND THE RADIO IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE SYSTEM SO I CANNOT CHANGE THE RADIO CODES ETC ETC

I HOPE SOMEONE CAN ASSIST THAT MAY HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM???

So, I still dont know. Do we talking about 2005 touareg? If this car is 2005 as I can see here xx 870 J and Gateway K<>CAN 0101 that is correct. RNS 510 will not work in this car, unless you will install CAN converter. But - CAN converter recognize signal from CAN network and it will tell to radio - switch off or ON only. That is why CAN GATEWAY will have this error because he is not able comunicate directly with radio. You can decode CAN GATEWAY (unmark adr when is radio) and problem should gone.

Ok so what sort of gateway are we talking about here and what will it do? Bit of a novice with tech stuff. Jarrod.

CAN gateway is a main CAN DATA BUS controler. That is why when you disconnect any device or device not exist, or there is no communication with this device (like u have now) this error apeare. Also extra device such as Instrument can display simmilar error because they are communicating with radio as well. There is nothing you can do with this configurtation. You can try recode CAN GATEWAY for NOT RADIO (unmark adr 56) and then this error should gone, because CAN GATEWAy will not try to find radio with address on 56. This emulator what you have connected to RNS 510 should recognize other CAN signal and should wake up radio as normal.
If not, drive safe with this errors
