Hi,
I am having a problem with my touraeg. It is a 2.5lt diesel automatic. When I drive it from cold, within a few miles the gearbox seems to stick. It sounds like when it goes to change gears (typically at around 45 to 50 mph) that it sticks. I pull off the road turn off the engine and restart the engine. This allows me to continue my journey, the engine changes gear and appears to run fine. The display on the dashboard indicating the gear you are in does not indicate anything. I got a friend to hook up his computer to the jeep and the error code "P0840 003 Mechanical Failure, Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Switch 1 malfunction" was displayed. Can anyone tell me have they seen this problem before, What was the fix ?, Is Pressure Sensor switch 1 external to the gearbox and is it a big deal to replace it if indeed it is the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
