hello everyone, I got an EPB fault and unable to release hand brake and the car is stuck in my garage. I have done a VCDS scan and it shows 0022 fault code. I can add the error later but my question is, is there a way to mechanically release the EPB? I have searched the forums as well as Ross The Wiki but could not find a procedure for releasing the hand brake when there is a fault. If anyone has done it and can direct me in the right direction, that will be great.
I have removed the tailgate panel and located the controller. The part number is 7P0 907 801F. My second question is, how to figure out if the issue is with the controller or the EPB actuator/motor. What are the troubleshooting steps or the procedure to test and figure out which component has failed? I am mechanically minded so just need few leads or a link to an article. Thanks for your help.
