Hi All! I'm new to the forum but have had my 04 v8 touareg for a three years now. Other than routine maintenance, I haven't had any major mechanical issues...until last last Thursday!

One of engine lights came on....it indicated there might be an issue with my exhaust system. Didn't here any major issues with the engine so I made an appt for the next day. A few hours later I took my car out & it literally crapped out at the top of the hill.

Long & short of it, I had no oil in my car, bent two valves and now need a new motor. Keep in mind that no other sensors went off indicating I was low in oil. There was also no leaks found. Has this happened to anyone else out there?

I'm really at a loss & shocked that this happened.

Eeeeegad that sucks, how much are they saying a new motor will cost

You didn't say if the 'routine maintenance' was done by you personally or by a shop. Can you document ALL the times you have had the oil changed since you had the car and who did that service? How many miles were there between when the oil was last changed and when the engine seized? In spite of your statement that there was no oil warning message, is there ANY indication of where the oil went? ie a loose or missing oil drain plug, lots of oil on the undercarriage, oil on the ground where you park regularly etc?

All of my services were done by my mechanic who used to work for VW. The odd thing was that there was no sign of the oil anywhere. No leaks, missing parts, or signs of oil on anywhere. My mechanic would have to take a part the whole engine to determine what the issue is, but regardless will need a new engine. I'm baffled!

Have you looked inside the coolant bottle for oil residue and on the underside of he oil filler cap for mayonnaise?

That oil has gone somewhere.
