2006 Touareg 4.2 v8

Good evening gents!

I’ve run into an issue after my valve cover gasket, cam chain tensioner gasket and half moon gaskets were replaced.

My drivers side bank is making a clattering (chain noise?) while driving at low speed after around 2000 rpms. Happens briefly and not again after it’s warm. (Had zero issues prior to install)

During the install of the half moon and CCT gasket - the cam chain tensioner on the drivers side didn’t retract after it was compressed. So I hand cranked the engine to see if it would come back to life. It came back a touch so I cranked the engine with the covers off and it came back.

The Treg runs very well and idles smoothly. Could this possibly be a faulty solenoid on the CCT?

When compressing the CCT could that potentially damage the solenoid? The passenger side had zero issues.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all!
