OP comes here with absolutely NOTHING in his post about year engine etc, just a generic useless OBD2 code and expects help. Then gets mad when his extremely vague “question” gets vague answers.

The enablers of this type of uselessness are just as culpable.

There was a negative tactless force that appeared on this forum this year that is driving a lot of new members away.

don’t be absurd. If you expect help, GIVE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE! Imagine going to your doctor and simply saying “help”. When prompted for more info by the doctor, you start getting aggressive and upset, then storm out while shouting “I’m done with this place!”

Mods need to make it MANDATORY to enter complete vehicle information when signing up. Year, model, engine at a bare minimum.

Wasn't looking for negative comments. Just help. Always tried to do things myself. But electrical issues I have trouble with. I thought I could get some leads here to try. I'm done with this forum.

It's not all about you. I can't offer any help unless you give the full picture. So best you leave all you are doing is trolling. You are actually worse than the one post wonders that this forum is plagued by. I post much less as a result.

Some of you are so grumpy and filled with pity. Plenty of people don’t know where to start so they come to forums for help not to be ridiculed. If you don’t have any useful information or input to provide why say anything at all? You are grown men you learned these things as a kid! Does it make you feel better shaming others? The OP is clearly in a situation where he is somewhat unfamiliar with where to start how can you expect him to provide a thesis on his issues? People wonder why forums are dying it’s because of those of you who gate keep and shame people who don’t know what you know or ask questions you deem stupid. When there’s no one left here to belittle what are you keyboard warriors gonna do? Having an inviting environment pushes the community forward and creates new genuine experts along the way. There’s so much hate in the world no need to add it here. I’ll stop myself here cuz y’all are gonna keep doing the same things regardless. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and a least some sense of compassion.

Mods can't. Trust me, I tried that when I was 'in the chair'.

The site owners are simply not interested in putting required info/steps in place for new members. And you can understand why, traffic thru the doors = revenue. If they stop them at the "I think I'd like to join" stage, then there is a negative flow-on for revenue. Obviously, it's best (it seems) to let them thru with minimal info to provide...and let the experience sort them out.

I agree totally. There are members that have been warned of this behavior but due to their sometimes helpfulness they are allowed to continue with the verbal attacks on new and older members alike. Edits to posts that are offensive in this nature is not stopping these people from chasing away new members who, as you said, are kinda lost as to where to begin and in most cases forget to leave basic information for others to help them correctly. it's still no excuse for others to be allowed to down put and ridicule them/others.
