The VAS6753 tool can be purchased from many different sources, costing anywhere from $30 to $100.
I didn't have time to wait two weeks for it to arrive from the great US of A, and I wasn't able to source it locally.
$2 solution: Took a couple of measurements, 15 minute Fusion 360 modelling and 2 hours 3D print!
Printed mine in ABS with 50% infill, 3mm wall thickness and 1.5mm top and bottom surfaces, and it's definitely strong enough.

Cool, but I have one question: who is putting your filters on that you need a wrench to remove them?!?

I've never had to use a tool to remove an oil filter, ever. They are supposed to be hand tight only.

On the V10 the filter itself is not fastened, it sits inside a holder on top of the engine. The lid of this holder is torqued to 25Nm according to the manual.

In this photo you quickly spot where this tool comes in...

Okay. I was thinking a spin on filter. My V6 TDI has a hex nut molded on the filter cap. I'm surprised yours doesn't have the same.

I just use a regular $8 strap wrench.
