Doors auto lock even after door opened

I have a 2007 Touareg and when opening the unlocking the door with the remote unless I turn on the ignition the doors automatically lock themselves regardless that I've opened the door and got in the car.

I've checked all the in car menus and auto lock is turned off. As is all the other door lock options.

At some point it is bound to lock the key inside.

Does your door sensor indicate when you open the driver’s door? If it’s faulty the car thinks you must’ve accidentally unlocked it since nobody is entering it locks itself again…

@lachoradkov is correct and may be onto something. You could try opening any of the other doors or hatch to see if it still re-locks itself.

My 2007 does the same. Always just assumed it was a bad design on VW's side. Interested to see if you manage to solve this as I'd like to not have to stick my key in just to keep the doors unlocked.

$330 for the door lock mechanism should fix it if that’s the issue
