I love everything about my treg except for one thing, ...the god-awful siren that goes off everytime I open the door while the engine is running and the headlights are on. Is there a way I can disable this super annoying feature?

It's called a VAG-com.... find someone in your area who has one and ask nicely if they will help you.

Thats what I figured. Has anyone tried to accomplish the same goal? And if so, what were those steps using Vag-Com?
