I wouldn’t think there was any other real choice than ATE ceramics and Std quality discs. These are the industry stand outs by a long shot

When I fitted my first set of ceramic pads, recommended by my VW specialist workshop, the positive difference was absolutely outstanding in every way. Wouldn't even consider conventional pads on any car again. The ATE pads are awesome.

Ceramic is a subpar compound for braking performance, it's no secret.. but at least they're quiet!

Hey if my Front brake rotors are the ones worn out and they were all replaced at the same time. Don’t you think the rear ones would typically go first? or do the front rotors usually go first? And wouldn’t the pads go first before the rotors?
IMO fronts usually do more work which is why you find (typically) fronts have bigger rotors and pads or in days of old you found front rotors and rear drum brakes.

I would expect to see pads wear out faster than rotors.

Pads and rotors wear out linearly in most German cars.

Why do so many people choose zimmerman? just out of curiosity?

Honestly, having sold over 3,000 axle sets of brakes for Touareg/Cayenne/Q7… I keep asking the question!
They don’t avow high carbon iron, a prerequisite for correct material, which is specific to the Brembo designs. I only sell high carbon replacement, and it’s not Zimmerman… I do not recommend Z as high carbon is too important a characteristic to ignore… HC always comes at a premium. Zimmerman is relatively inexpensive.
Just say no… and contact me for a correct spec kit!
