Has anyone fitted a "Diesel Key" to their Touareg, I am purchasing a new V6 TDI and the distributor in Canberaa is unsure as he has never fitted one to a Treg before?:smile2:

You shouldn't need it as long as the diesel nozzle is a different size then the gas nozzles. I drove gas vehicles for years and have yet to miss fuel my TDI.

Diesel Key was developed in the UK but quickly superceded by manufacturers fitting smaller fillers in diesel models - this allows the smaller nozzle on Euro car diesel pumps to operate but prevents the larger petrol/gasoline nozzle from being inserted. This smaller nozzle prevents refilling from truck diesel pumps so may be impractical in areas where there's no separate diesel pumps for cars and trucks.

Fill yourself and mind the "Diesel Only" sticker on the fuel door and "Diesel" printed on the fuel cap.

Thanks all for that, I think I will wait until I get the vehicle and re-assess my decision.
