sorry to hear
Hi! I am also going after the lemon law in IL... Had mine in the shop over 8 times with the same problem, hard vibration and pulling to the left. Called VW several times, sent notice via certified letter and was placed with a direct VW person. I also contact BBB and went thru the proper channels there too. I have requested to be placed into another t-reg or buy back... I was thinking about a lemon law attorney, but with VW, I have found that each state has a different way in going about the lemon law, I knew in IL I had to make this official before 12,000 miles .. and I did. What I would do, look up the CA lemon law, get all copies of work orders, make copies along with a detailed log for yourself, such as how many loaner cars and how long the dealer kept your car, how many times you called the dealer to let them know you have a problem .. I have noticed by doing this you have been in the dealership more than what the work order history will state... The dealer that I deal with opens an order and regardless if 3 weeks goes by and parts are orderd and coming in 3 times with it, they will close it as they see fit when they think the car is out of there,.. so, with this.. I would recommend it.. Anyways, send a certified letter to VW ( address is in your maintance book) and send all copies along with a letter of what you want done to your car. they will also need a copy of the registration, and sales contract. At that time, you will see a quick turn a round and someone will contact you.. Hope that this helps, VW will only do what they want to do via the lemon law, contacting an attorney is just a mediator as in BBB is , but the attorney gets paid, So, far the guy from VW has made an offer to place me in a 05 and I have a 04.. this is just the beginning phase, I can always opt out and make them buy it back, but I have to see what deal I can get. Good luck ! !! ~Edie IN IL
