I'm seeking interpretations of the faults below which are related to the DPF and reductant supply systems. The "reductant purge valve" shows failed going back a few months. I assume this failed valve meant that no AdBlue was being sprayed into the exhaust. Two days ago the egg went into limp mode and the glow plug indicator was blinking. After a restart, no problem. The VCDS scan identifies a number of faults related to the DPF.
The question I pose is: Could the failing of the AdBlue pump cause issues with the DPF system? My research says the reductant/treatment occurs after the DPF.
BTW, I brought the egg to the dealer on Thursday because it went into limp mode and I thought the mechanic was going to say that something in the DPF system needed to be repaired or replaced but to my surprise, he advised that the "N80" pump should be replaced and possibly the wiring harness (at a cost of ~$1,100).
I appreciate any insights or guidance offered. As the 12's can't be repaired I'm going to be selling it back to VW in a few months after the Canadian 3.0L settlement is completed, so I don't want to spend a bunch of dough on it unnecessarily. That said, I don't want to ignore an issue that could lead to engine failure.
