Description: This simple VAG-COM mod allows you to disable those annoying Daytime Running Lights. If you have a full-color MFI on your speedometer cluster then this mod will also now add an option to enable/disable DRL's under the "Lighting & Convenience" menu. Statistics have reported that there has been no noticeable decrease in automotive related crashes where DRL's were utilized. Disabling the DRL's not only looks better - but it stops the unneccesary use... thus extending the life of those super expensive HID bulbs! Here's a little secret - most Touareg headlights already kick on automatically at speeds over 85+ MPH whether or not DRL's are disabled! (quoted from 2008 Owner's Manual)

FYI: Cable used was the $349 Ross-Tech "HEX-USB+CAN Interface"
The menu option to turn ON/OFF DRL's in the full-color MFI will only be available after a complete power cycle of the vehicle. Simply turn off your car - remove your ross-tech cable - remove key - shut and lock doors - NOW IT SHOULD WORK!

- Plug In Ross-Tech Cable (underneath driver dash)...
- Turn your Touareg's Ignition On...
- Open VCDS Application on Your Computer...
- Click the "Select" button under Select Control Module....
- Click the button labeled "09-Cent. Elect. "...
- Click the button labeled "Coding"...
- Highlight and Copy the complete "Long Code"...
- Paste the Long Code into the blank box below...
- Change only the FIRST TWO numbers in the long code to "22" (current factory pre-set North American code should be "23")
- The DRL's should now be OFF.
- Click the "Save" button.
- You are DONE!
