The automatic TPMS is fault is showing in my 04 V6 Toaureg and I'm also getting a warning, "defective wheel on board". Is there any suggestions on what I can do?

If you have not replaced the original sensors on your 2004, the message is telling you that it is time to do so, or take other actions to quell the message. Normal life of the batteries is ~6 years, and the batteries are permanently attached to the sensors, therefore replacement is necessary to keep the TPMS functioning.

This has been posted SO MANY times before.

So my little story in getting it fixed. The sensor replacement is covered on my extended warranty that I have with TWG(The Warranty Group). So I brought my Treg in to Garden Grove VW to get it taken care of, keep in mind for the last month I have been getting the "Defective Wheel on Board" error followed up with a "Flat Tyre" error beyond 20+ minutes of driving.

So VW just called to tell me that nothing was wrong and that the mechanic couldn't find a problem. He said all sensors are fine and still have plenty of battery life. I responded with "Bull ****, please try again" because there is nothing normal about have a defective wheel on board or a flat tyre every time you drive. Useless...

Find someone local with a VAG Com to turn the system off for you.
