2004 V8. Key stuck in ignition, I've tried using a paper clip to get the key out but its still stuck. Any Ideas?

is battery dead?

The battery was completely dead. I thought it was charged enough to get the key out, guess not. I've had the Touareg for 7 years and this has never happened.

I drain my battery at least twice a year by leaving my turn signal on when I get out of the car.
