This function had been working great on my TDI V10 2010 Touareg. Now it is just stuck in up position (the wheel does not respond to the buttons for tilt or telescopic) and the convenience entry does not work at all. I do hear a distinct click when I press any of the movement buttons or the convenience entry on off button. A click like a relay in the wheel column or under the dash. Anyone have any ideas? Fuse is fine. Anyone know where the relay is?

There was no V10 in 2010 in the US and certainly no power telescoping steering wheels in 2010. What year do you really have, then maybe someone can help you out.

I just purchased an '04 that has this same issue (I knew that before I bought it). I've gone through the fuses and they're alright. According to the manual, this option shares the same fuse as the seat belt height. I can definitely hear a clicking coming from the CCM when the buttons are pushed on the steering column adjustment buttons, but that's it. I suspect a relay as well, but need a diagram. Anyone have a relay diagram for the steering column adjustment, or an economical way of getting one?

I purchased the VW repair manual on ebay and traced the wiring diagram. This 8 pin connector carries the voltage from the controlling module to the steering column motors. Since the seat belt height adjustment and steering column are on the same circuit, and the seat belt height still works, there were few places left to check and this one was the most likely.

Put the seat in the far back and up position. Under the floor mats there are 2 plastic pieces about 2x4" each in the corners, remove them by pulling up on them. Then remove the cover to the under-seat compartment, I did this by just pulling it up and out(you may have to work it a little). Look under the seat towards the drivers door jamb, it's not too far underneath and I didn't even use a flashlight. I gave a little tug on the harness going to the module and it came right out. I put it back in and made sure it was in there, the socket closest to the drivers door. I test the column before I put it all back together and voila.

Yes bravo fixed mine too precisely the same issue (harness hanging) and same solution. On my truck you did not have to remove the two plastic pieces the underseat compartment cover comes out without touching those. This is how you access the battery under the driver's seat too by the way. THANKS SO MUCH you sold a year old problem.
