also found when looking for a used Touareg that if a woman owned the vehicle the buttons were all knicked up.
Wow, I never considered that, but now that you mention it, I do have several knicks on some buttons on my Treg.

I just bought a 2005 V6 Treg this past Saturday. It is squeaky as HELL!!! but I now know it's due to the cupped, off-road crappy tires that Carmax sold the car with. (Currently sounds like I'm driving a giant styrofoam SUV). But new tires should quell most if not all the squeaks, so I'm looking forward to that. I've read that felt helps in special places where plastic rubs against the car or each-other when driving if you happen to have squeaks. A lubricant spray of some sort also helps. There are posts on ClubTouareg that discuss the squeak solutions.

Good luck if you buy one. You won't be disappointed.

That's ridiculous VW makes drivers buy whole parts just to get a smaller component in that part. What if you lose your valet key; do they make you buy an entire key transmitter, ignition starter and glove compartment and drivet door (for the single keyhole) to get the valet key?
