I have had my Touareg now for almost two weeks, and am loving it! The car is a dream to drive and looks great. This board has been great in helping me answer odd questions. I have two that I haven't seen anything about though. 1.) Does anyone have any idea as to why my overhead compass won't calibrate. It just says CAL on the left side all the time. I have tried driving in a circle like the manual says but that didn't help and served only to frighten nearby drivers. Any suggestions? 2.) A stupid question, but what color is everyone's dash lights. I thought that in a few that I test drove at night the dash was blue and red. My centre area (A/C and such) is blue and red but the instrument cluster has no blue? Does anyone else have the blue? I thought it looked really cool but it isn't a huge issue for me. Thanks in advance.

If you drove a car without nav or air suspension, then your instruments are blue and red. With nav and/or air suspension you have white instruments and a multicolor MFI.

Daytime air and/or nav:

Daytime no air and/or nav:

Nighttime no air and/or nav:

I don't have a night photo of the air/nav dash but since you own one you don't need it.

Set you compass manually according to this zone chart:

Instructions:
- With ignition switched on press button - 3 -
- Select with function keys - 2 - in display - 1 - symbol "N" and confirm OK
- Select function keys - 2 - selected zone between "1 and 15" and confirm OK in order to adjust compass zone.

Thanks for the dash light info. That would explain it. I like the blue, but I guess since I have NAV I can live without it. The compass thing though won't make a difference I don't think. I select N and press OK and it just goes back to the clock and CAL. I might have to make a run to the dealership if don't get it figured out. Thanks though. I will try it again tonight with your instructions.

So this compass thing still doesn't work. Not sure if it is operator error (possibly) or just something unique to my car. It generally just says "CAL" next to the time. I press the button with the two overlapping rectangles on it and then use one of the arrow keys to get to "N". Then I press the button with the rectangles again and I go back to the clock and "CAL". Am I just pressing the wrong buttons here or what? Thanks in advance for the help.

When it says "CAL", drive around in a tight circle (suggest you do this in a parking lot, not on the road!) it should then figure out which was is north. DON'T press the button again. If this doesn't work, then you have something wrong.
