Have a 2005 Touareg and live in warmer climate area. When air temp gets below 50 degrees and car is cold I get a clicking sound between 20 and 40 MPH form below front seats. The sound is like cold plastic hitting metal, a lot like a playing card in bike spokes. I stays the same if car is in gear , neutral and even coasting w/engine off. It goes away when car warms up and doesn't do it at in the warmer months. My mechanic cannot figure it out but thinks it might be coming from transfer case (which seems odd to me). Any ideas?

Thanks
