2014 V6 TDI (CNRB).
around a month ago, I topped off the coolant after the coolant light came on. It did not come back until recently (2 days ago to be exact). It would usually turn off after the engine got up to temp. Since I added coolant a month ago, the level in the reservoir dropped about 2 inches. I topped it off this morning, but I would imagine I am correct to assume that this is NOT normal consumption.
Here is what I think could be causing it (really I have no clue!)

Here is what I think could be causing it (really I have no clue!)
- Coolant leak. I think this is most likely the culprit, but I see no evidence of fluids leaking in my engine bay, but maybe I just don't know where to look.
- It is also worth noting that I installed an aftermarket turbo inlet hose around the time that the coolant light came back on. I doubt that this could have caused a leak because everything went smoothly with the install, and I think that the car was losing coolant before this too, and it only just reached a low enough level to set off the sensor.
- If there is a leak, I really hope its not leaking into the cylinders. I have not noticed a sweet exhaust smell, but it could just be overpowered by exhaust smell.
- Coolant is being vaporized into defroster. I use the defroster most mornings now, but I really dont see how this could consume enough coolant to lower the level in the res by 2 inches in a month.
