Hi, recently purchase a 2008 3.0 TDI V6 from a local VW dealer.

The vehicle has been in to them several times for the issue of both the instrument cluster and also the Radio/DVD display intermittently dimming and becoming nearly unreadable. VW have completely replaced the cluster at there own cost, they have removed a Parrot handsfree kit leo of which they thought may be drawing the power but none of these have solved the issue.

Anybody have any ideas at all to what the issue could be and more importantly, how to resolve?

Thanks for that bit of information, will certainly check this out.

It is a very strange fault as it would seem as if there is not enough voltage getting through, however sometimes it will all work correctly!

the sensor from your replies would appear to be in the cluster unit itself, is this correct?

also, as the cluster unit has been replaced completely, do you believe this could still be at fault?
