Chrome grills

I have seen that a VW dealer has been selling T-reg chrome grills on E-bay. I am considering buying one. The seem to be going at $160.00 -170.00 each. For those that have swapped out their black grills for the chrome grills, are you happy with the changeover? I would think that with certain color of the vehicle it would be a more pronounced change.
Also, does anyone know if the rocker panels as seen on the W-12 T-reg are availible here?

The link that is posted here is for the chrome strips that will adhere to the two plastic grill strips on either side of the VW logo. I did this on my car (got them from tregcentral.com) and they work and look great! My car is a wheat beige V8 and it really sets off the front end even on the lighter color. The grill that you see on ebay is the entire grill and you will need to remove the existing black grill and install this entire chrome grill. I have heard that it's fairly easy to do, but the chrome strips took me a total of 10 mins of easy to apply labor and look just as good. Go for the strips!

It is very easy to install the V10 grill. It took me 7 minutes to changeover. The difference between the strips and the V10 chrome grill is the circle in which the VW emblem sits in. It is chrome in the V10 grill and black with the strips. Comes down to personal preference.

Chrome Grilles

The V-10 chrome grille is easy to install and it looks sharp on my Colorado Red. There are some instructions at tregcentral.com. The mentally hard part is pulling out the VW emblem as you'll think you are going to break it!!. I got mine on ebay from one of the VW dealers, can't recall which one, but have ordered stuff from three including a Porsche dealer and all are square shooters.

Good luck,

Toom

Chrome Grille

I cannot disagree that the strip solution is a cheaper route. But, the ring around the VW emblem is left black. Some folks have painted that with chrome paint, I read in the posts, but the real deal is an entire V-10 grill. After all, what would you do with the money you save - put it in the gas tank?
