Quick background, I bought a 2004 Treg 3.2L that needed lots of maintenance and was throwing about a dozen different codes. I have worked through most of them so far. No VagCom or VCDS, etc. I am just using a basic code reader. However I am stuck on a P0103 MAP and an incoming Catalyst code. I cleared the codes about 300 miles ago after doing a bunch of maintenance and repairs and still have the P0103 and incoming code. Before I replace the MAP, since I have already cleaned it, I want to get that incoming code to see it's relation to the other.

So my question is, how long does it usually take to have incoming codes to appear? Or is it maybe something related to the basic reader I am using compared to a VAG-COM, VCDS etc.?

Thanks in advance.

I'd get a proper VCDS scan.... find someone local that will scan it for you for a coffee or lunch, etc.
VW guys are typically decent and we do help each other out.

There's a VCDS locator post that will give you an idea of how close someone is to you, etc.

Thanks TurboABA, I'll check that out. I have been using and reading this site daily since I picked up the Treg a onth ago. This community is great and I agree about VW folks! I hve been in to VWs since I was a kid in the 80s. I have daily driven and restored a lot of them, all aircooled except for a Vanagon I used to drive. VW folks are just a different breed. :wink2:
