I am looking to purchase a CD/MP3 player for the CD Aux in my Treg. Does anyone know of a compatible make and are the plug ins also compatible to most brands? Thanks!

I tried one from SSI America last year. It was crap. If required an adapter that didn't work right. I am pretty sure you won't find anything that will fit in place of the stock CD changer.

Thanks. I found a Verge from Circuit City that is supposed to fit. I also found a JVC that might work, but I need to see if they are compatible with the plug-in. Thanks for the heads up!

I hope to get back my Treg from dealer today and will visit Circuit City to see if it works. New windshield, and latest ECM update from service area tech.

Found out that it is not so easy. You can find a unit that is CD/MP3 compatible, but you need to find an adapter for the VW plug. I am not going to pursue this further. I will just convert MP3 to CDR and use stock CD player. Too much hassle!! Good Luck

Found a compatible CD/MP3 Player

I just purchased a kit from Autotoys.com that consists of an Alpine CHA-S634 MP3/CD changer and an Axxess VWALP-02 converter. I hooked it up and it plays CDs just fine, however I don't have an MP3 CD ready yet to test that part, but so far, so good. It even looks like it will fit in the factory CD bracket. I will post an update as soon as everything has been tested.

Just tried installing it this morning. Although it appears to work perfectly, the unit is about 1/2" too wide for the factory bracket. I'm not equipped to modify the bracket to make it fit, so I'm going to pass on this one. If you are interested in buying this kit from me, I will sell it for $300. If it won't fit your Touareg, it should easily fit any other VW or Audi.
