I can!

I retired in 1999 and eventually placed a factory order for a 2016 model year Touareg with my choice of interior trim and a longish list of extra-cost options - at my age and health I don't expect to buy another car so this gets any maintenance it needs without question - I'm fully aware that any repairs will be expensive, in direct proportion to the car's cost when new but I have a local trusted independent workshop near me who aren't expensive to use - at 8+ years old it's depreciated to the point where annual depreciation is peanuts - I'm now getting an age penalty on my car insurance but that won't stop me enjoying driving my Touareg - despite the high cost of fuel in the UK I'm still doing about 13,000 miles/year. As the saying goes "there's no pockets in shrouds!"

I'd be tempted by the Retirement Edition badge but I ordered my Touareg with badging removed and it does look better for that.

 

After fiddling around with the car I think I need one front and rear - on me!
