Depends on what you are looking to do. Off road, A/T, specifically street... Very open ended...

Ron C Looking for basic all season tires that will last maybe 20-30K or more and look decent on the car. I'd like an aggressive tread pattern if possible. I had Toyo Proxes ST II on it but they are back ordered big time. So would like to try something else.

You can go to tirerack.com, "shop by vehicle," get a few recommendations and then check out the reveiws. My -05 V8 (bought this Jan.) came with Yokohama Geolanders that I have liked this winter but not everyone agrees on all season tires.

I am going to guess you have 19"s on your V10. I am running the Conti DWS and I love them. Really didn't like the Toyo's that some people love.

I've had Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas in stock 255/55x18" size for 34K miles now. They're very quiet, have good dry road grip, and handle rain well. The only drawback I've identified is their ice/snow performance, which is pretty mediocre. My set looks to have another 20K miles left to go.

Not cheap, but good stuff usually isn't. When these are gone, I'll replace them with another set of the same thing.

After chowing thru too many tires...I have switched to the bridgestone dueler alenda... my car has the 255/60/17 on them. 23,000 miles later... i have no sign of wear yet...and they have towed, been in the snow, been on long trips, and done a ton of city driving. In my mind you cant beat them! Tire rack was who recommended them and I wont go back to any other tire than these.

I am about to fit new tyres to the V6 TDI. Currently have Goodyear Wrangler. Good grip but poor wear.
I am going to try the Continental Contacts. I have the standard 255 60R 17 setup. I have read good and bad reports on this product. My tyre fella recommends them and he has always been pretty reliable. Wait and see how they go. I will keep you posted.
Cheers.

That's interesting you got poor wear out of the Wranglers... I had wranglers on my F-150 (that I traded on my Treg) and had over 90,000 miles on 'em before I got new ones. My Dad got 100,000 out of his. I can't speak for them on the Treg, but I've had an amazing impression of Wranglers.

I think there are several tire lines under the Wrangler name. So you guys may be talking about two different tires.
