I need to R & R the right front universal joint on my '04 Treg V8. A few years ago I did this on an older Audi and on that car you could pull the axle without undoing the suspension, just need to turn the wheel hard to one side. Trouble is, I can't remember whether (for the right U-joint) you turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and wrestle it out from behind the axle (meaning access it from the rear of the wheel well), or turn the wheel all the way to the right and wrestle it out from in front of the axle/wheelwell. Can anyone advise me on this? Or on the Treg is it not possible to do this without unfastening the suspension bits? Thanks!
