Revised as of Jan 03,2015

Chris here from Burlington VW in Burlington, NJ
The VW Drive Easy extended service contracts have changed as of Jan 01,2008
They have now combined the new car extension w/ the used car extension and
have come up w/ one main plan.

Now the time starts the day you sign up and the miles you choose are on top
of what you allready have!

They still have the same verbage in the new contract as far as coverages
that will be explained here:

> Allthough I am open to all coverages, I would reccomend the Platinum
> coverage as it is an exclusionary warranty vs an inclusiuonary warranty!

>
> These quotes are w/ a std $100 deductible.
>
> Should you want a $0 deductible, please add an additional $230-$517
> depending on the terms you choose!
>
The $100 std deductible is per visit, NOT per complaint!

Hi Chris,

Is see these prices are for 2011-2015 Touaregs. What would be the price for a 6/60 platinum warranty with a $100 deductible on a 2008 Touareg with less than 34999 miles? It is currently covered by your platinum plan but I was hoping to extend it before it reaches 35,000 miles.

It would be a few more bucks then the 2011 and so on due to the fact that the 2011 thru 2015's have the 10 years or 100K Powertrain Plans already from the factory to lessen the burden

Here are your quotes

I have a question. My 2011 TDI was under cpo waranty. I had two failures of the adblue system. One reluctant pump and one Nox sensor/control unit. The second failure was covered under cpo but I had to call V of A to get this accomplished. The question is with the Platinum coverage is the adblue system covered. The dealer initially tried to say the adblue was part of the exhaust system (which of course it is not) when I had the Nox sensor go out and was not going to cover the repair. The Platinum plan excludes exhaust systems so I just want to make sure the adblue system is covered before I purchase for my new 2014 TDI.

Thanks

What do you think about "Care Plus," which I understand involves prepaying VW for your service for up to 4 or 5 years, depending on the model? Does it save any money?

Also, I imagine one could save on paying tax by buying it out of state and then using the safe harbor provisions (paying a fixed tax on transactions under $1,000) on the state tax return.

I looked into this about 6 years ago and I deemd it not a very good deal for my clients. It was just not that favorable to them as it did not cover all the servicing that he manufacturer suggests to be performed and thus more money out of pocket!

It may have changed now, however, now I am under the understanding that only the selling dealer is eligible to sell the prioduct at point of sale

I am sorry I cannot help on this one!

Chris? Are you no longer at Burlington? I tried your Cell and received a "this caller is not accepting calls" message. I called your direct line and got voicemail for a Penny Robinson. Is everything OK?

Anthony Carpenter @ Burlington VW is handling Drive Easy Warranties. Give him a call to discuss options. They may honor the prices Chris quoted.

I've said a lot of nice things about this warranty, so let me balance it out.

Last week my memory seats stopped working. Press buttons, nothing happens. I thought it might be a fuse, but no such luck. The fix was to reprogram the seat control module.

Now you would think that since the memory seats stopped working and the dealer had to fix them, that this would be covered by their "platinum", exclusionary warranty. But you would be wrong. they said that since the control module (i.e., the hardware) was not replaced but "merely" reprogrammed, this constituted an "adjustment" which is excluded under item #10 of the agreement.

Unimpressive.

#31 ·
So how much did this adjustment cost?

#32 ·
the dealer did me a favor and only charged me what would have been my deductible had the insurance company covered it, so probably not too much more than that though I don't know for sure. when they reprogrammed my RNS-850 (before I had the warranty) that ran a couple hundred. for sure, it's not thousands of dollars.

Somehow I thought that might be the case so you're no worse off financially.
