I've used both and they are both excellent. I've got a slight preference for the Zimmermans only because you can get them with a coating that prevents rust.

I have only used the Zimmerman rotors, and have never had any issues of any kind with them. If there is a price difference (likely more for the name Brembo?) I would say it isn't worth it (in my opinion).

Stick with PAGID pads. Yes, they may be dusty but they're OEM and stop the car well.

having owned 2 Tregs and 2 Cayenne's I am pleasantly surprised by the lack of dust on my new 2015 Exec TDI. Brakes are great and virtually no dust. My old Tregs and Cayenne's brakes were terrible with the black dust and squealing. Have they changed the pad material for 2015-16?

Respectfully, Do not use Pagid pads. The black dust will cover the rims and does not easily wash off at the car wash. I am washing rims by hand now.

I saw a huge improvement between my 04s/07 and my 09..seems they changed the pad material in 09. My 13 is even better, no dust and likely 4x the lifespan of what I'd get out of brakes on an early touareg.

Who makes the pads on the current Touaregs? They are pretty damn good IMO. Good bite, excellent braking and little/no dust. Wayyyyyy better than what was on my last 4 cars.

They have all been Brembo/Pagid pads. My set I put on the front of my '10 said Brembo.

My last pads were Brembo that lasted about 40k miles. Although BMA does not stock them.

I wonder were you can get them?

PAGID make the pads for Brembo who have no friction material production capabilities.

My 2014 is the same. WAY better than my 2008 was in terms of dust. Still stops great too.... :)

I only run PAGID pads, but sure wish for less dust. It stains my driveway when I wash the Treg with black streaks running down the length (reminds me I need to pressure wash). The water coming out the other side of the wheel is ink black. But it stops well, so I live with it.

They changed the pad material, had to for the new ones to have virtually no dust issues, I mean almost no dust at all. Washed my Treg last week and the wheels are still clean, I mean finger swipe almost no dust at all clean. The new pads Pagid or something else are terrific. I would not put anything else on my car.

2011 and later models use hybrid pad composition incorporating ceramic materials as binders to cut down on carbon black. The rears especially last a long time.

My original pads on my gas 09 were great. Stopped well and dust was acceptable. Once they wore out at 90k I took it to my dealer for new rotors and pads. Still stopped great but the dust was horrible. Worst I have ever seen. So now I'm skeptical

So ultimate question is ... who makes the T3 and T4 pads ???? If they perform this well why are they not the same in the earlier vehicles if it is the same manufacturer ??

I've got a hunch but i want to hear the real results

I think its less about who makes it (Pagid) and more about compound. 04-08 were notorious for horrible brake dust and very very short life.

Current ones have no dust and I'm shocked that I still have 70% pad life at 40k miles. I would have had to replace the brakes already on an early Touareg and likely would be looking for deals on a second set.

I'm sure in a lab the early compound outperforms the latter compound, but in real world conditions I feel zero difference. The T3 still stops incredibly well.
