Yes! Mine are terrible. I brought it in once and of course they weren't squealing at the time. I haven't had a chance to go back so I don't know the cause. The noise is pretty constant though. It seems that the hotter it gets outside the louder they squeal.
A poster on another forum has had his pads and rotors replaced under warranty after he showed his service manager the noise. Suggest you do the same. The car shouldn't be making any noise other than the purring engine.
My brakes squeak as well and I only have 1,400 miles. hmmm??
Squeaky brakes

My rear brakes were squeaking badly so the dealer replaced the rear pads and rotors. After that they squeak even LOUDER!!! That combined with the tire pressure icon that they could never fix prompted me to trade the lemon in for a Lexus SC 430. Having driven Toyotas all my life I should of known better than to buy a VW. I love my Lexus!

We are having speaky brakes as well...this is not normal for a brand new car. I have already brought it to the dealership twice for this problem and they are saying there is nothing they can do. I spoke to VW customer service and they will supposedly talk to the service dept and figure something out. i will post back if I get a fix for it.
My service guy believes the squeak is the result of brake dust buildup. I tend to agree, because when I wash my car, I give the brakes a good hosing out and a ton of dust pours out. Afterward, I don't hear anything from my brakes for another 300-miles or so.

Just so you know, I'm creeping up on 12k miles after five months.... so you can tell I like to drive my 'T'.
My rear brakes squeak also. First I thought the brakes, were....well...braking in, but I guess they are a problem. So I can confirm that I am not crazy, and the brakes are a problem for others also. Then again, I haven't seen my car in about two weeks cause it's in the shop, so I can't exactly tell you what kind of condition it is in right now.
As with TREGinginCO, we were told it was due to excessive brake dust. I am satisfied with this response, having inspected them myself with the tech.
my brakes squeak on and off every once in a while and when i need to show it to someone to get it fixed i can never replicate it either. its so weird.
My brakes only squeaks when i'm backing out probably because I just tap the brakes while backing out.
I am satisfied with the excessive brake dust solution, mainly because there has been no loss in brake performance. I just wish my dealer/service dept would be knowledgeable to give me that answer off the bat
It seems to be my rear brakes, upon light application. I figure I would wait until the 5K service. I'm sure there'll be a fix by then. Squeaky brakes are something I can live with, I just turn the stereo up louder.
LETS GET TOGETHER IN THIS PROBLEM

I LIVE IN MIAMI I PURCHASE MY WIFE A PRETTY SHADOW BLUE REG AND THE SAME DAY BRAKE NOISE THEY HAVE SEEN THE CAR 4 TIMES THEY SAY NOTHIGS WRONG WITH IT CHANGE THE PADS 3 TIMES

AND THEY HAVE THE NICE COMMENT TO TELL ME THERES NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS IN THE ENTIRE USA ((( COME ON!!!!))) IM PLANING TO HAVE A METTING WITH THE VW REPRESENTATIVE IN FLORIDA BECAUSE IM PLANNING TO CALLED A LEMON (( THEY CANT FIX IT)))
BESIDES THE CAR HAS HAVE BLEW ((( 4 AMPLIFIERS IT HAS THE SPECIAL RADIO))

brakes

just brought my car in for the brakes, among other things...the dealer can hear the brakes squeak, but there is nothing they can do about it. They told me the brakes are working fine, brake pads,etc....

I think all we can do at this point is call VW customer service and complain about the brakes..if VW gets enough complaints about a particular issue, hopefully they will have the engineers work on a fix. The service manager at the dealership said he heard a rumor VW was working on a fix for the brakes, but VW customer service would not confirm that.
The brakes should not squeak. Make them drive you around in the Touaregs on the lot and see if their brakes squeak.

I have 4500 squeak free miles. My 'egg is cleaned weekly, so I don't know that much buildup could occur, but it still doesn't sound normal to me.
I have 6,500 miles on my Treg and the brakes have been silent the whole time.
Squeaky Brakes

Hey guys,

I have had my T reg in 2 times complaining of squeaky brakes. My dealership says VW is aware of the problem but says that it is normal and there is nothing they can do about it.
By saying that VW is aware of the problem and that it is normal is a contradiction itself. Apparently, if you wash your wheels more often, there is less buildup of brake dust in the calipers and thus less squeaking. I wash pretty frequently and have never had any squeaking on either of my Touaregs.
regardless of how often you "wash" your car...your brakes should not squeak.
