Access isn’t the issue. The screen in the master cylinder seems to have a ridge in the plastic about 20mm from the top and it won’t allow the screen to just lift out. Tried many times to remove it but I am afraid of damaging it.

What tool have you tried to extricate it. It should pull out. Yes, ther is a ridge but use an external jaw pliers, maybe snap ring pliers to expand and grip the inside of the screen tube and pull up?? Mine was hard to come out but I have an external set of pliers which made it easier

Thanks for the responses. I’ve tried pliers attached to each side and levering with screwdriver around in circles but it’s stubborn. I think I’ll get on my lathe and make a thin tapered sleeve to fit around the outside to compress it. Handy tool if it works and will be needed each fluid change.
