I have a 3M clear bra on my TOUAREG and love it. It's take a few good shots (typical for colorado) and nothing has penetrated it.

I've had my hood, front bumper, headlights and mirrors done!

I had an independent dealer here in the Denver area do it.

I got a good deal too---- helluva lot cheaper than what the dealer offered.

BRAS

I've used/had a lot of bras :-# on many cars. they all, eventually get to be a pain in the butt. So on my new T-got the new invisible bra--clear 3-M stuff. MY T is Black--so I can -in the right light see the bra line---but the pros are worth it. had it 1 year so far--no problems--highly recommend \:D/

Does anyone have the Llumar clear film on their car as opposed to the 3M clear bra film? The example that I saw of the Llumar film was much clearer than the 3M film for the same thickness. Anyone have any experience with it?

Prozac,
People use a bra in the USA because on the highway they follow behind other vehicles and those vehicles can throw up dirt, sand, dust or whatever may be on the road. In areas where we have snow, sand and salt is used on the highways. This is can get thrown up from vehicles in front of you.

I had a "full wrap" clear bra installed on my TOUAREG and love it.

It cost me 450 bucks and that got me the following:

1: Hood Protection - 18 inch cut (not the 12 most shops do)
2: Front Bumper (every painted surface on the front)
3: Headlights
4: Mirrors

Even 4 wheeling, the film on the mirrors did a great job of keeping things from getting scratched up.

If you were in Colorado, I'd give the guy's name and number to get it done. He did a great job.

I had a 3M clear bra job priced this weekend at R&M Tinting in Denver, CO. Same as TREGinginCO, full front, 18" up the hood, mirrors, door handle cups. Price they quoted was $699.00. Sounds like I need to go talk to TREGinginCO's man. :-s If I remember, TREG had his done by RON at CLEAR BRA's is that right. Did a good job? That's a good price, I'll give him a call. Thanks.

Dusty,

You've got a memory like a steel trap!!! Yes, Ron at Clear Bras did mine. Ron did a great job and an even better part is.... he'll come to you and do the car wherever you'd like.

His number is: 303.507.5211

Good Luck!!

Let me recommend Pro-Tint at 14th and Wadsworth. Galen does a great job and his standard is much higher than mine. I went with Tynan's recommendation and went to A Touch Above up on 104th and came back to find a dirty wash mit had put nasty swirls marks in my clearcaot from the door openings to the front fenders. When I talked to the owner about it he told me to have Tynan's buff it out and he would cover it. Turns out the head of sales is his cousin. The bra and front window tint was done very well but I look for a bit more professionalism and accountability. "That's never happened to me before" don't cut it and now I have to deal with Greg, the head of service at Tynan's who wouldn't stop reading the paper long enough to talk to me about the problem. And frankly it wasn't his problem. Try Pro-Tint. They are a bit more money , but they are good and very accountable. My F-350 Ford truck was $275 for an 18" bra, but it is straight and tight. Be aware that when you first look at it in the sun with polarized glasses you will see the rainbow. It goes away without polarization. Front window tint on the Ford was perfect. On the Treg it was close with their best 3-M, but close isn't good enough. Go Pro-Tint..

Highly recommended! Another area I did was the rockerpanels, this way no scratches from feet dragging over the painted surface.
On our A6 Avant I did the top of the bumper, honestly, that saved the bumper paint and after 5 years no yellowing or anything! Used 3M.
