I'm a vw tech based in Colorado. Just recently lifted my 2004 Touareg with the eurowise 2.5 inch lift kit and fitted some slightly larger a/t tires. Installation of the kit went relatively smooth but the passenger front cv axle seems to be binding and is popping under load. Replaced the axle and with the new axle it is still popping. Anyone out there using a 2.5 inch puck lift kit that has encountered a similar issue? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Planning on doing so, however the eurowise website doesn't mention anything about the subframe drop on anything smaller than the 3 inch lift as far as I'm seeing. It almost seems that there is pressure on the CV pressing the inner and outer together. On the driver side I can get a small amount of movement in and out as is normal whereas on the passenger side I can not. Can I go with a subframe drop as little as 1/2 inch and be ok?

I talked to them yesterday and they told me 1” subframe drop was about normal but I was talking to them about a t3 with a 3” kit.

Sorry about the delayed update. I had ordered up the subframe drop kit and in the mean time while waiting for it to arrive I tried shifting just about everything that could affect the driveshafts. Ended up with the exact same result after everything I tried. Installed the subframe drop once it arrived and immediately the noise was gone. Decided to go with the 1" subframe drop instead of the ½" as the last thing I wanted was to put it in and still have a problem. Pleasantly surprised as I didn't lose as much ground clearance as I had expected to.

Did this correct this issue? I am interested in the extreme duty 2.5" kit and subframe drop but I don't want any snafus along the way since nothing pangs me more than anything unexpected happening with my cars, especially when I'm the causer. I was unaware that the subframe drop was mandatory. I was under the impression from their site you could use their lifts without the subframe drop and that the drop simply corrects the geometries closer to stock. Let me know if the Touareg rides any different afterwards. If I do this modification and the ride isn't as pleasant as stock my gf will probably ruin something of mine and then tell me I got played like a sucker (she loves the touareg).

The subframe drop did fix the axle binding and the ride wasn't changed much. Little more body roll through the corners with the higher center of gravity and larger tire sidewall.
