Bought my 2004 T-reg in May Noticed that the headlights did not appear to be lined up properly. The right side is brighter when you look at the vehicle straight on. In order to get the left light to appear as bright I have to bend down further yet and then the're both of the same intensity. Talked to my service dealer and they said the lights are controlled by computer and they are set up properly so as not to bother the on-coming driver. I'm looking for feedback on this issue. My friends who drive ahead of me, say that there is something wrong with my lights-one is dimmer than the other.

The headlight facing oncoming traffic is suppose to be aimed lower. The dealer should be able to check alignment. Event with self leveling headlights there is a way to manually adjust how high the beam is focused, at least on previous cars I had with this capability.

I've had the same issue with the ellipsoid headlamps (and foglamps too) on all my cars. The headlights themselves have an offset to the right, as in: they shine higher to the right. This is to keep as much light straight on and to the right side of the road as well as to keep light from hitting on-coming traffic towards the left. To adjust: block the right side of the lenses (I use thick cardboard and tape) and use the left sides only to shoot a flat beam onto a wall about 30 feet away from the car. Then just line-up the flat beam and you should be ok.
