Hey everyone

Can anyone recommend a good sun screen to protect the dashboard? Does the dealer make one? I'm looking for one for a T2.

My older A2 GLI has a huge crack from sun damage, and I don't want the same thing to happen to my Touareg.

I know you can get cheap $5-10 sun visors at auto parts stores, but I'm wondering if you guys are using a higher-quality product for a high-end car like a Touareg.

I don't live in the desert, but I still want to protect the interior from sun damage.

Thanks!

Also, has anyone tried the custom-fit sun shades? Do they make a big difference?

The only windshield cover I use is my Evautolution cover in the Winter. Pic below.
I don't use an interior sunshade. I use 303 Protectant on the dashboard and other interior pieces.
So far all good and the interior still looks like new.

I just do interior leather clean and condition routine about once a month and I use Nextzett Gummi Pfleg`e Stift on all the weatherstripping about` 4 times a year. It is especially great in winter.

What do you use on the dash and other plastic trim pieces?

Hands down the best protection will be ceramic tint. If you can get away with it, the lightest you can put on the windshield. Modern Volkswagen group cars are much better at UV resistance with interior plastics but I would still use ceramic tint all the way around including the panoramic roof to ensure you keep UV out. Yes it's probably 2 to 3 times as expensive as traditional tint.

Couldn't one just use the sunshade for the Pano-roof?
With that said I also use 303 Protectant on the interior items (except the seats). Made for the aerospace industry it helps protect the components from UV damage. My interior still looks like new.

Another option on sun shades... Covercraft. They are accordion style instead of roll up design, for what it is worth. Fits very well in my 2014.

It's nice looking but $106 is way too expensive for that. I've seen similar ones around for like 1/3 the price.
