Bhamham what year and which TDI engine is in your Touareg?
Do you plan to use your Touareg for daily driving, off-roading, towing, etc?

Hello Viking Lady! The engine type is the V6 not the V8, i plan to use it off road so i am looking to change up the rims, i am not too happy with the tires it has on now, its a 19 inch rim with the litte flat tire fellers i would imagine the bigger tires on there would be great.
As of now it is my day to day driver, i do plan to tow some weight with it as well. I am a big fan of the german design and plan to use it to the extreme if i can...meaning if the design says capacity tow is 7 thousand i want to tow seven thousand and one, maybe....

Take the time to read forum posts on maintenance - maintenance is expensive but cheaper than repairs. You can use the advanced search to find info specific to your issues or questions too.
Touaregs are unique breed of beast. Finding an experienced Touareg Technician is a challenge but priceless.
please update your Profile by adding a Custom Signature with your Touareg year and engine. It will then automatically show up at the bottom of all your posts.

Hi Bhamham! I live down in Sultan, a little town east of Seattle metro up Stevens Pass. I have a 2007 TREG V8 I bought used just over a year ago. Put some much-needed maintenance in it and just LOVE this lil' beast! Right now, I'm working on options for the headlight assemblies b/c I am one of those unfortunate souls with the '06-'07 headlight upgrade (HID projectors with the static side-lamps for turning, but in the pre-'07 rectangular lamp lenses). She has 170k on her and runs like new. The maintenance is pricey on her, but well worth it so far. Enjoy the forum. You will find it to be a priceless resource. ;)

Welcome fellow Washingtonian.

The only thing I desire more than a V6 diesel with low range and rear axle locker as a factory option is a diesel Egg with a manual gearbox with the rear axle locker. Car Speedometer Gear shift Vehicle Radio

The Pesky US import embargo has me at a real disadvantage, though...

I hope you enjoy your TDI.

Cheers...

ahhh yes, the germans love money so i figure they would make something that cost alot to fix, i am not sure how to add the custom signature, PNW is great for drives as well. I live near a place where they have tulip festivals at some point in the year, thanks for the info!

Oh yes, driven past sultan many times i just made my first mini road trip a few days ago in the Treg it handled amazing in the pass even though it was pretty nasty conditions. i am new to owning a vw, years ago i drove the classic benz 300 sd model 1982 model it was a dream until it died, loved the german diesel technology so this is my new diesel to get over that heartbreak..haha, i am stowked to be on the forum. cheers friend!

Thankd for the welcome! you mean they make these models with a manual gearbox? the germans are tricky that way, and i have learned they love money so they make really cool stuff that cost extra then make it better and only sell it outside the u.s.a! meaning no offense to the germans.

One of my playgrounds Is Spada Lake. Also, any NF roads around US Rte 2. And of course BDR WA. I haven't traveled the entire trail. So far I've trekked from Ellensburg to Chelan. I don't wish to wreck my Egg doing some rock crawling. IFS/IRS rig is not a good contender for that. But an overlander, you can't ask for better chassis for that.

Cheers...
P.S. WA chaps, we should do something off-roady. How about Evan's creek off-road park (weather/snow permitting)

lovely cars

welcome, another bellingham touareg :)

maybe i missed it - what year is yours?
I got the 2016, the salesman at the lot said it was the owner's wife car, but i read a few posts on this forum and it sounds like i am not the only one that got the car salesman's wife's car. i think it's a common pitch haha. Either way it is bad to the bone
