I have a 2007 V8 with a BAR engine....my accessory belt tensioner bearing is toast (or at least I think it is) and I'm changing it out this weekend with the belt.

Any of the serpentine/accessory belt threads I see reference loosening the tension by putting a breaker bar on it rotating the tensioner clockwise. I have a spring-loaded tensioner (vs what I suspect is a hydraulic one) and having a hard time figuring out how to loosen the tension on the one I have. It's this guy:

Any tips would be hugely appreciated.

I just put a breaker bar with a 3/8" end into the square hole you see in the picture and rotated the tensioner clockwise to release tension then removed the belt.

Thanks Perry! Guess I was looking too hard for something tricky. That makes perfect sense

Really REALLY appreciate the quick response. Now I can fix it in a 1/4 of the time!
